A lovely start to the year in that, after a few months at the end of 2016 meeting some very special and respected people, I was invited to become a
Non-Executive Director of Imperial Corporate Capital Plc. ICC is concentrating on the purchase and development of a variety of properties in the UK but with
emphasis on the Crossrail area  of London. Investors from across the globe
have already expressed interest, from the Middle East to Singapore and Hong Kong. Further details can be found on the web site
I attended a lavish launch event on The Yacht London and the first Non-Exec Board meeting a few weeks later.

A quiet start to the year with the completion of my association with Minley Manor.I will watch with care the developement there but as at the beginning of June planning permission has yet to be granted.

In May I was kindly invited to attend the book launch of "Hampshire" by Timothy Mowl & Jane Whittaker. They visited Minley in June 2015 and I escorted them round the estate and they were most interested in the
gardens planted by the Veitch family as the manor was under construction in the 1860s. Having to restrict the content of the book to only about 120 gardens I was delighted to see that Minley was included.

June opened up with the wonderful marriage of my son Simon to his fiance Julia in the beautiful village of Hurstbourne Priors.

I attended Trooping the Colour once again and also hosted the National Liberal Club to Beating Retreat at Horse Guards. Very special as it was to celebrate Her Majesty's 90th birthday!

Following up on the plaque unveiled for Commander Harold Goulding DSO RNR on 18th June I attended the small ceremony at his grave in Hartlepool and then was a VIP guest at the handing over event of the Hartlepool Maritime Experience to the National Museum of the Royal Navy

As Chief Operations Officer for the development of the newly purchased 80 acres estate of Minley Manor
I have been very busy but the year had some exciting days!

Saturday 6 September 2014.

I attended the Polo for Heroes Day held this year at Fifield Polo Club near Windsor. It was organised by Clare Dingwall whose enthusiasm and organisation skills were in full swing on a lovely dry and balmy day. Ably assisted by husband Gary, and brother Gary, three polo matches were played followed by an excellent dinner and charity auction. Brett Hamlington was a valuable in his support, playing in a winning team, providing two fabulous auction items and a super driving force so that the event could take place. The celebrity TV antiques expert Tom Keane was a superb auctioneer with twelve items raising vital funds for the charities supported.

Monday 16th June 2014

I had the honour and pleasure of hosting the Deputy Judge Advocate General of the US Army Major General Thomas Ayers and his family at Horse Guards where I presented the history of the origins of the British Army and afterwards lunch at the National Liberal Club. Delighted we were to share our keen interests in the Napoleonic Wars and the Duke of Wellington!

Thursday 12th June 2014

Beating Retreat at Horse Guards this year was a fantastic spectacle and on a warm and balmy night probably the best for at least five years. It involved the massed bands of the Household Division, a choir, guest bands from the USA and Canada and finished with a marvellous firework display as the band played music from War of the Worlds and Star Wars. The salute was taken by HRH The Duke of Cambridge Prince William. Click on the centre picture below to view the You Tube video of the evening.
